A Morning Routine That Sets A Great Start For The Day

Being productive from the begging of your day is super important in order to feel accomplished during your day. Morning routine plays a big role in how your day will look like.

That’s why it’s crucial to develop a morning routine that sets a great start for the day.

I know that if I sleep in, I feel annoyed that I just slept through half of my day. In the mornings I like to take my time and do the things that really fills my cup. Then I can go through the day in a completely different mindset.

I’m not an early bird at all, (wannabe tho), so for me to get out of bed it’s quite a mission. Every single evening I’m saying to myself that tomorrow is gonna be different. I won’t snooze my alarm, wake up early and will have a much longer day.

Guess what happens in the morning. My thoughts turn around and sleeping longer is more important. And that’s how my mind turns every single day.

But okay, sometimes I do succeed to wake up at a reasonable time and can dedicate the time for the things that I love to do. It makes me proud and accomplished and I have more energy and motivation to do the things that are on my to-do list. Productive morning routine is what makes me feel so much better throughout my day.

Here are habits that help me to have a productive morning routine. It probably will look like the basic ones and you already heard of it hundreds of times. However, I believe that these are the ones that many of us tend to skip the most.

HAVE YOUR ROUTINE

The most important thing is to develop a routine that you like to follow and that is working well for you. It takes away thinking and you just do the things that fill your cup and prepares you for a productive day. I find it so demotivating when I do not follow my routine. If after getting up I binge into scrolling on Instagram, and doing other things that take up my time- it leaves me with having done nothing.

How you spend your morning will lead the way how the rest of your day will look like.

If you wake up and start rushing into the things without a proper start of the morning, most likely you will feel stressed out from the beginning of the day.

So for the record, develop a routine that is enjoyable for you and make your morning favourite part of the day! You can implement the habits that I have and recommend for everyone or you can create your own.

STRETCH

I don’t know about you, but whenever I get up from bed I feel that I’ve been hit by the bus. I feel so stiff hence a good stretch is so needed and helps me to wake my body up.

Sometimes I do my own stretching exercises or yoga flow, sometimes I turn on Youtube and follow someone else.

It doesn’t have to be long, just enough to move your body, wake up the muscles and feel like a functioning human again.

EXERCISE

After my morning coffee, I prefer to get the workout out of my way. It is because I know that if I don’t do it one of the first things in the morning- I might not do it at all. Lately, I love doing home workouts, so it’s perfect for saving time and still getting that sweat in. I have my favourite Youtube channels that have great home workouts and I enjoy following them. 30-40 minutes and that’s a wrap. SWEATY AND ACCOMPLISHED.

I hear so many people saying that they don’t have the motivation to really put on that activewear and workout. They are promising themselves to start on Monday but still haven’t been successful. My tips here would be:

  • Find a friend that would like to do it with you, text each other and do a workout at the same time, meet up for a run or a gym date.

  • Set yourself a goal of what you want to achieve: be healthier, stronger, fitter or more consistent. Then think how would you feel if you wouldn’t achieve those goals any time soon? Do you want to feel sluggish, weak, tired and keep complaining that you need to start working out? I don’t think that it’s fun. So set your mind on your goal and start imagining how you would feel once you would get there.

  • Find a workout form that you would enjoy doing- running, home workouts, going to the gym, trying out workouts from Instagram, Tik Tok challenges, any sports, exercising with a friend.

There are so many options so pick something and don’t delay it anymore.

READ/JOURNAL/
LISTEN TO PODCAST

Now that I’m fully awake and had my workout in I make my breakfast and normally read a book or listen to a podcast. I really like to implement it in my morning routine because I feel that I’m doing something for myself that is valuable. I promised myself to read at least one book a month, so it’s good to stay consistent with it by taking the time to read every morning.

Another great habit is listening to a podcast. If you’re not that much into books, this is an amazing tool to get some new knowledge, get inspired and just listen to other people conversations about something that interests you.

Here are a few of my favourite podcasts

The Goal Digger Podcast

EmpowerHer

The School of Greatness

They are so good and provides great value in terms of self-development, business and mindset.

Journaling is one of the habits that I want to start doing more often and consistent. I know that when I do journal, it feels great to put my thoughts down on the paper and really see what is on my mind. This is is one of the things that I’m working to implement more often into my morning routine. I see how helpful it is for other people and I realise it myself, however, it’s one of the practices that I feel the resistance of doing.

SET YOUR MIND ON ‘IT’S GONNA BE A GREAT DAY’ MINDSET

I try to say it to myself every morning and in this way, put my mind on the positive note. I want to have a great day, so why not to go ahead and say it out loud?

So many people are going through their days with the mindset of ‘I wish I could go to bed right now’, ‘I’m so bored’, ‘Can’t wait for Friday’ and such. In this way, you won’t be able to enjoy your day and make the most out of it. I know that sometimes we don’t even think about how important it is to treasure our time and make the most out of it.

So stop wishing to lay down in bed the whole day, and appreciate that you were able to wake up. Make the day count and go through it with a positive mindset. Create a productive morning routine that will set you for a great day.

Hope these tips and habits were helpful for you! I wish you to create or improve the morning routine that you would love! Remember to win your morning, so you can win the day!
